Prayers of Hope

Prayers of Hope

In response to reaching the terrible milestone of 100,000 deaths from COVID-19, the Archbishops of Canterbury and York have invited all of us to call on God in prayer.

Starting from 1st February they invite us to set aside time to pray, particularly at 6pm each day. More than ever, this is a time when we need to love each other. Prayer is an expression of love.

We will open our Zoom Meeting ID 204 797 5566 just before 6pm on TUESDAY and THURSDAY evening and we invite you to join whenever you can in our prayers of hope for the nation and for the world.

As in November, there are suggested daily themes to help us to pray:

Monday - Schools, colleges and young people
Tuesday - Elderly, isolated and vulnerable people
Wednesday - Business, workplace and economic wellbeing
Thursday - The NHS and other key workers
Friday - National and local government
Saturday - All who grieve, and all who suffer mental or physical ill health
Sunday - Family, friends and loved ones

You can find out more about the call to prayer from the Church of England website here.  Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or wish to find out more.
